And now we rest - World Doula Week 2018 Day 4!
Happy World Doula Week 2018 Day 4!
Yesterday was amazing.
I woke up, went to the March For Our Lives protest in Austin where 20,000 protesters and myself marched for safer gun control laws. Being there yesterday revived my hope in our future. The littles of all ages waving signs, starting chants, and taking charge of organizing the event got my heart pounding and eyes misty.
Then I went off to the Austin Spring Tango Festival where I got to dance with Chuck for a couple of hours.
Then I went to the Giving Austin Labor Support 10th Anniversary Gala where I got to see so many wonderful birth workers and leaders in our community. It gets kind of nuts when you get a bunch of birth workers off call together with a cash bar, folks. That's all I have to say about that.
Then I went back to the Austin Spring Tango Festival where Chuck and I boogied until 4:30am.
It was a crazy day. One I'm still feeling. So today, I'm saying 'yes' to me and taking it easy. I hope you are too.
